Protect yourself and your neighbors against fire.

Three out of four fire injuries occur in homes.

The best way to prevent fires is good routines, fire protection and knowledge of how fires start.

Is your home safe?

To avoid a fire in your apartment, you can check the following in your apartment:
• Remove flammable materials that are on or next to the stove.
• Do you have broken wall sockets? Contact Ljusdalshem to report a fault.
• Extinguish candles when you leave the room.
• If a fuse often blows – contact Ljusdalshem to report a fault.
• Check that you have a smoke alarm installed and that it is working.
• Make sure that candlesticks are free of curtains and the like.

Escape routes should always be kept free of loose objects and flammable materials. Therefore, bicycles, strollers, boxes, furniture or garbage must not be left blocking the stairwell. Ambulances and rescue services also need to be able to arrive easily to help in the event of illness or fire.

If there is a fire in your apartment – get out and close the apartment door behind you. If there is a fire in someone else’s apartment and the stairwell is filled with smoke – stay in your apartment! Call 112 and the fire department will help you out.

As a tenant, you must notify Ljusdalshem if the apartment has been damaged.

GET HOME INSURANCE!

It is important that you have home insurance. It can protect you financially if something happens to your apartment or your belongings. For example, if a fire breaks out, you can get compensation for things that have been destroyed in the fire through home insurance.

Home insurance can also be a security measure if you yourself cause serious damage, such as a fire. Most home insurance policies also include theft protection and legal protection.
