Ljusdal offers proximity to lakes, a river, forests and outdoor activities all year round - while the town has an active business community and good communications.

Ljusdal is the municipality's central town and its business community is characterized by trade, industry and service companies. The town's largest employer outside the public sector is in the service sector, mainly telephone support and call centers.

Ämbarbo is located just over 2 km outside the city center in an easterly direction. The area consists of terraced wooden houses on 2 floors. The houses contain four apartments, each apartment has its own patio/balcony and its own entrance. In the area (no. 1 on the map) there is a daycare center, and it is also close to an  till 18-hole golf courses and large walking areas. Built in 1982.

Solsidevägen 12 is located just under 2 km outside the city center. The area consists of 6 semi-detached houses, with 2 apartments in each house. Built in 1974.
